A UK Data Specialist Since 1998

Simunix has spent more than twenty-five years turning authoritative UK records into answers organisations can act on. This page sets out where our data comes from, how we govern it, and why institutions that check everything continue to rely on us.

Who We Are

Simunix is a UK data business that has been operating since 1998 and now answers millions of checks every year. That work runs through six products: ORBIS for investigation teams, the Simunix API for developers, AgeVerifyUK for age verification, ukphonebook.com for directory lookups, Simunix KYC for regulated onboarding and PRISM-X for risk orchestration. Each presents the same verified records in the form a particular job demands, whether that is a sub-second API call or a complete investigation platform.

The data behind those products is licensed from authoritative UK sources: BT OSIS, the edited Electoral Register, Companies House, credit bureau data and Land Registry records for England and Wales. We can name the origin of every record we supply, and the personal data we hold is processed under the UK GDPR. Provenance of that standard is the foundation the rest of the business stands on.

It is also why the organisations with the least room for error use our data. Police forces across the UK build investigations on these records, and major financial institutions verify customers and screen risk against the same portfolio. Organisations like these examine a supplier thoroughly before committing, and they keep choosing Simunix.

How We Work

Data with a named source

We license data directly from authoritative UK suppliers and registers, and every record we return can be traced to where it came from. That traceability is what lets a result hold up in a compliance file, a credit decision or a courtroom. Where a source cannot be accounted for, we do not supply the data.

Governed under UK law

Our platforms run from UK data centres in Manchester and London, and every product processes personal data under the UK GDPR. Independent certification against ISO 27001, PCI DSS and Cyber Essentials Plus, alongside Crown Commercial Service approval, means our controls are held to standards we do not set ourselves.

In it for the long term

Customers embed Simunix data in onboarding journeys, investigation workflows and credit decisions, and those integrations have to keep working year after year. We support them with UK-based expertise, clear documentation and products shaped around how each team works. Twenty-five years in the same field reflects how seriously we take that responsibility.
